Sorry for the late post!
To be honest, I didn't really have a clue what we were going to talk about during the meeting with Goodwin. I've heard other people talk about him before, but he just seemed like a generous supporter of our club and I didn't really pay much attention. But upon meeting him, I realized my assumptions were all wrong. His advice about not only Eggchange but also about life in general was very inspirational. He first opened up to us saying that even though his living conditions were poor and he couldn't afford to go to college, he nevertheless strived to pursue his goals and finally made it. He said his experiences are what made him want to help us. Having worked in farms before and aware of the conditions, Goodwin truly seemed like he cared.
He was also very honest with us in giving feedback to us. He probed us with questions that we've never even considered before, and I felt we still had a lot more to improve. He also suggested we had to be more passionate and confident about our eggs, because we really had nothing to be scared about. He reassured us our eggs are of the best quality, being completely free range, organic, and living in the best conditions possible. He felt we just had to step it up a little bit more, approach others with more courage, and let them know how good our eggs really are. He also didn't forget to congratulate us for coming this far and reassured all my past worries and doubts would be fixed; I felt we all left with our confidence and hope restored.
After the meeting, we went to get Shanghai's biggest burger :D It was like the size of a soccer ball! (okay maybe I'm exaggerating). The five of us (me, Weilin, Jinjin, Alex, Yingying) ended up sharing one huge burger, and we didn't even get to completely finish it. Nevertheless, it was a really fulfilling day!
